High court ruling on government’s rejection of parliamentary ombudsman’s report

The High Court has ruled the Government was wrong to completely reject the Parliamentary Ombudsman’s report into collapsed pension schemes. The Ombudsman, Ann Abraham, ruled last year that pensioners had received misleading information about the security of their pensions, principally from Government leafl ets on pensions, and that this constituted maladministration on the part of the Government, requiring compensation.
